Thermal and fluorescence properties of Nd2O3-doped Gd2O3-Ga2O3-GeO2 glass based on the Judd-Ofelt theory

摘要
•A new type of Nd3+ ions doped gallium-gadolinium-germanium glasses (61.92-x)GeO2-14.75Gd2O3-23.33Ga2O3-xNd2O3 (x = 0, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, 1.50, 2.00 mol%) were prepared.•When the Nd3+ doping amount reaches 1.0 mol%, the emission intensity reaches the maximum, and the fluorescence quenching phenomenon occurs when the concentration is higher.•It is found that the luminescence intensity of the glass ceramics obtained after heat treatment was increased by about 4.5 times due to the formation of GdGaGe2O7 crystal phase.
