A Survey of BGP Anomaly Detection Using Machine Learning Techniques

The border gateway protocol (BGP) is the protocol underlying the Internet's global routing system. It manages the connectivity among autonomous systems (ASes) and how the packets get routed from one network to another. This survey focused on extracting all the possible BGP features from a BGP control plane and determining the most significant ones for detecting BGP abnormalities. Also, it provides a review of the recent works concerned with using Machine Learning algorithms to detect BGP anomalies.
