摘要

•We tested whether modifying aversive memories changes prospective mental imagery.•This study compared imagery rescripting and progressive relaxation in social anxiety.•Reappraisal of aversive memory occurred after both interventions.•Prospective mental imagery of threat was more positive after the interventions.•This highlights the potential of modulating aversive memories in social anxiety.
