摘要
Formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing chemicals can be found in consumer products due to its excellent preservative properties. Formaldehyde is a common allergen implicated in allergic contact dermatitis. The North American Contact Dermatitis Group highlighted a 7.4% prevalence of positive patch test reactions to formaldehyde, making it the fifth most frequent allergen. There has been a recent spike in eyelash extension popularity, but reports of acrylate allergies and formaldehyde in professional eyelash adhesives may limit users who then seek alternative options.
