摘要

•The probe (MPI-Calix[4]) was synthesized and characterized.•The probe showed an effectively selective recognition of HS- and CN– ions.•The limits of detection of the probe for CN- and HS- were calculated.•MPI-Calix[4] was also used as bio-imaging fluorescent probe in HeLa cell lines.
