Dear Editor, We have read with interest the commentary by McAvoy and Tudor-Locke1 on our article entitled"Association of accelerometer-derived step volume and intensity with hospital-izations and mortality in older adults:A prospective cohort study".2The authors expressed some concerns about our meth-odology used to define accelerometer-derived step intensity and the analytical approach applied in our study.
