Association of adolescent depression with subsequent prescriptions of anti-infectives and anti-inflammatories in adulthood: A longitudinal cohort study

•Adolescent depression predicted adult use of anti-infectives and anti-inflammatories.•This was evident in females with persistent adolescent depression in particular.•The association may be driven by continued mental health problems in adulthood.•Findings stress the need for collaborative and coordinated mental health care.
