摘要

•Macrophages glycolysis abnormalities are successfully used to assist in the accurate classification of MCAO in aged rats.•Effective metabolically engineered 4-OI-loaded exosomes were developed and showed a curative effect on early-stage MCAO in aged rats.•This work opens a new direction for the treatment of central nervous systems diseases.
