Calibration of Coherent Optical Fiber Bundle with Lcd Screen for Deformation Measurements

•A method that can calibrate the spatial misalignment in the coherent optical fiber bundle (COFB) was proposed.•The influence of the spatial misalignment on the deformation measurement accuracy of the COFB-based digital image correlation system was analyzed.•The accuracy of the two-dimensional (2D) displacement field measurement result is improved from 0.50 pixels to 0.03 pixels after misalignment calibration.
