Photovoltaic Energy Storage System Based on Three-port Converter

With the increasing prominence of energy shortage and environmental problems, new energy technologies represented by solar energy have become the focus of research. However, traditional photovoltaic charging is susceptible to weather, and the output power changes with the light intensity, and it is of little possibility to work at night. In this paper, a photovoltaic energy storage system design based on a three-port converter is proposed, which solves the shortcomings of intermittent and fluctuating traditional photovoltaic charging. The photovoltaic energy storage system is composed of three parts including photovoltaic array, battery and power load, and divides four operating modes through the energy flow between the three parts. This paper examines a control strategy using PWM wave modulation that can be used to achieve maximum power point tracking and load port voltage stability of photovoltaic energy storage systems.
