Anti-epileptogenic effects of synaptic vesicle protein 2A modulation in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease

•Brivaracetam and levetiracetam reduced seizure susceptibility to amygdala kindling in aged Tg2576 mice.•Tg2576 mice display seizure susceptibility phenotype at young age (4–6 months).•Treatment with brivaracetam was effective in delaying epileptogenesis acquisition in Tg2576 mice even after drug washout.
