Interest of the MGAP score on in-hospital trauma patients: Comparison with TRISS, ISS and NISS scores

•In a single center, retrospective study, TRISS is superior to MGAP followed by NISS and ISS to predict in-hospital mortality using in-hospital data.•NISS is superior to ISS followed by TRISS and MGAP to predict disposition from the emergency department to the intensive care unit, operating room, or morgue using in-hospital data.•Changes in the stratification of MGAP, ISS, NISS, and/or TRISS severity is needed to adequately triage patients according to ACSCOT guidelines.
