Photodynamic and antibacterial studies of template-assisted Fe2O3-TiO2 nanocomposites

摘要
•Fe2O3-TiO2 (FT) nanocomposites were synthesized by template-assisted precipitation reaction using PVP-PEG, T-80 and CTAB as templates.•Photohemolysis studies were done in human erythrocytes under the irradiation of an LED.•Cell viability studies were done in HeLa cell lines under the irradiation of an LED.•The antibacterial effect of the samples was investigated against E.coli.•Among all the nanocomposites, PVP-PEG assisted FT shows better PDT and antibacterial activity.
