摘要
•Global FEM model of the COMPASS-U tokamak with foundation was developed.•The deformations and stresses in the concrete were computed during the worst case axisymmetric plasma disruptions.•The computational cost of the model was analyzed including solution time, RAM and hard disc requirements.•The final design of the foundation and the anchor system was decided – with foundation thickness of 0.8 m.•The vibrations of the vacuum vessel due to transient vertical forces caused by VDE were analyzed for the COMPASS-U tokamak.
