Paleomagnetism and 40Ar/39Ar geochronology of Meso-Neoproterozoic rocks from southwest Norway. Implications for magnetic remanence ages and the paleogeography of Baltica in a Rodinia supercontinent context

•New Ar-Ar and paleomagnetic data for Meso-Neoproterozoic Sveconorwegian orogen, SW Baltica.•Age of magnetic remanence within three progressively younger units within the Sveconorwegian orogeny is discussed.•We report new ∼ 1090 Ma, ∼1000 Ma, and ∼ 900 Ma paleomagnetic poles for Baltica.•New data are more in line with geolgogical record within the Sveconorwegian orogen.•Combined with existing data, new results do not support classical Baltica-Laurentia connection within Rodinia.
