•EZH2/RAI2 regulatory axis was discovered for the first time in LUAD cells.•EZH2 was found for the first time to promote the malignant progression of LUAD cells by negatively regulating RAI2.•EZH2 was found for the first time to enhance radiation resistance of LUAD cells by negatively regulating RAI2.
