Exploration of an imine-based covalent organic framework for the solid phase extraction of nitroimidazoles in milk and meat samples

•TAPT-AN-COF was synthesized under solvothermal condition with relatively large BET surface area and good adsorption capacity.•TAPT-AN-COF was used as SPE adsorbents for the purification and enrichment of nitroimidazoles in milk and meat samples before HPLC-UV detection.•The adsorption kinetic model of TAPT-AN-COF was simulated and studied.•The adsorption selectivity and possible mechanism of the prepared material was discussed in detail.
