Cardiovascular Diseases and Cognitive Impairments

life expectancy increases, combinations of cardiovascular disease (CVD) with cognitive impairment and dementia are increasingly common. Cognitive impairment can be a complication of CVD and can develop simultaneously with or earlier than CVD. The preclinical period of neurodegenerative diseases accompanied by cognitive impairment often lasts decades, and the relationship between these diseases with CVD is not fully understood. Research has to take into account a large number of often interrelated factors, so the role and mechanisms of action of each of these in the long term is very difficult to demonstrate. The combination of CVD and cognitive impairment requires special approaches to patient management tactics.
