Nitric oxide-generating self-assembling peptide hydrogel coating for enhancing hemocompatibility of blood-contacting devices

摘要
•By using building block properties of self-assembling peptides, a peptide-based NO-generating hydrogel coating is constructed for mimicking the functions of endothelium.•The developed peptide-based hydrogel coatings exhibit GPx-like activity to catalytically generate NO from endogenous s-nitrosothiols (RSNO), showing excellent anti-thrombogenic properties.•Such hydrogel coating provides a novel, facile and promising surface engineering platform for developing endothelium-mimicking devices.
