Relative bioefficacy of seventeen Poaceae extracts targeting oxidative stress-related diseases coupled with elemental profiling using ICP-MS

•C. citratus, S. spontaneum, O. compressa and D. annulatum showed highest antihemolytic potential.•In vitro ferric thiocyanate and thiobarbituric acid tests were applied.•Among essential elements, ICP-MS revealed highest concentration of sodium in C. ciliaris and potassium in P. annua.•Elements have substantial influence on the biological activities of examined species.
