摘要

•A hybrid RANS/LES study of the coaxial cylinders flow was conducted using OpenFOAM.•Further validation of the heat transfer part of the dual-mesh method is presented.•The buoyancy-extended lengthscale resolution criterion performs satisfactorily.•The hybrid method gives better results than the pure coarse LES and the pure RANS.
