•Two types of rubberized asphalt mixture were proposed to prepare the Bi-block precast asphalt trackbed.•A three-dimensional finite element model of the bi-block precast asphalt trackbed was developed using the ABAQUS software.•The design parameters of the Bi-block precast asphalt trackbed were determined based on the dynamic response.
