Geological Details of the Main Landing Ellipses of Luna-25

— The work carried out a comprehensive analysis of engineering and scientific requirements within the main landing ellipses of the Luna-25 expedition. To detail the landing ellipses, data on the conditions of the Earth’s visibility, illumination, critical slopes and cratering, in combination with the geological structure and the presence of hydrogen-containing components in the soil, were considered. Within the ellipses, areas with high, medium, and low engineering constraints on the landing and operation of the descent vehicle were identified. Possible sources of matter accumulated in different locations of the landing ellipses are estimated. These data are important for the interpretation of the soil analysis results at the landing site of the descent vehicle.
