摘要
Osteoarthritis (OA) and Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are major inflammatory diseases occurring across the globe, mostly in developing countries. The transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) has opened up a new form of application for the delivery of the drugs, avoiding side effects like gastrointestinal tract (GIT) disturbances in patients, which are basically caused due to oral administrations. In the present review, new treatment strategies for aforementioned both diseases have been covered concerning TDDS approach. Several recent studies have been summarized focusing on the management of OA and RA through TDDS; among which micro-needles and transdermal patches have shown the most excellent prospects and have also been considered the new-fangled and advanced means of anti-inflammatory drugs' delivery. In this piece of writing, we have discussed varied types of transdermal drug delivery systems that have been developed in recent years for the management of and also the betterment of the life of patients suffering from OA and RA.
