摘要
Aim: To describe the importance of hyaluronic acid topics in partial thickness burns treatment, corresponding to each chronological stage of the burn injury, reducing the healing time, with a good control of pain management during the dressing change and improving the quality of newly formed tissue. Material and methods: Descriptive study developed on 20 patients treated between December 2019 - January 2021, including I, IIA, IIB burn lesions and skin graft donor zones, on a total surface area of 5-10% each, located on different zones of the body such as upper/lower limb and trunk. Results: For all the patients (aged 21-58 years old, 14 females), we preceded the low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (LMW-HA) application by the lesion debridement with topics based on hyaluronic acid and collagenase. In 7 cases we performed surgical excision of IIB lesion followed by reconstruction using split skin grafts, harvested from the thigh. To stimulate the detersion of the burned tissues, we combined the proteolytic effect of the collagenase with the action of the negative wound pressure therapy system (NPWT) in 7 cases. We obtained good functional and aesthetic results in all the cases, with total healing time of 14-35 days. Conclusions: Because of the contribution as a modulator to many of the biological processes, LMW-HA (200 kDa) became a part of therapeutic options for burns lesions and skin graft donor zones. The ease of use, biocompatibility, better esthetic and functional results were also considered as important points.
