Synergistic Enhancement of Photoelectric Performance of TiO2 Photoanodes through Polyoxometalate and Blue Honeysuckle (Lonicerac caerulea L.) Anthocyanins

In this work, natural Lonicera eduli anthocyanins (the main component is cyanidin 3-O-glucoside,abbr. C3G) and Dawson-type polyoxometalate K6P2W18O62,abbreviated P2W18, were introduced into a TiO2 photoanode to produce a synergistic effectfor the first time. It can have a synergistic effect that enhances the photovoltaic and photoelectrocatalytic performancesof the TiO2 photoanode. We fabricated multilayer film photoanodes by the layer-by-layer(LbL) assembly method. Experimental resultsprove thatthe P2W18/TiO2/C3G filmpossess a better photocurrent response and higher power conversion efficiency than TiO(2)films, G3G/TiO(2)films and P2W18/TiO2 films alone. Meanwhile, the P2W18/TiO2/C3G film also displayed higherphotoelectrocatalytic activity for methanol than the other films. These resultscanprovideimportantinformation for photovoltaic and electrochemical sensors.
