Location and corrosion detection of tower grounding conductors based on electromagnetic measurement

•We proposed a location and corrosion detection method of tower grounding conductor based on electromagnetic measurement.•The experimental results show that the detection accuracy of grounding conductor position can reach ± 0.1 m.•The maximum deviation of depth detection is 0.0964 m for the square-type grounding conductor.•The corrosion degree of grounding conductor can also be evaluated by the value of fuzzy closeness.
