摘要
•Sustainable concrete was produced utilizing coarser rubber instead of natural coarse aggregate.•Two rigs were introduced to implement an innovative method of prestressing the rubber particles.•The effects of two sizes of rubber particles and steel fiber in rubberized concrete were evaluated.•Improved bondings between matrix and rubber surfaces were observed in microstructure analysis.•Preloading of fresh rubberized concrete improved compressive strength significantly.
