摘要

•Water ageing of flax-PLA non-woven composite materials was studied.•Different environmental conditions were investigated, 50, 75, 98% RH and immersion.•A critical relative humidity between 75 and 98% was highlighted.•Above it, a strong decrease of the composite's mechanical properties was observed.•Flax fibres swelling generates high stress and micro-cracks appear in the matrix.
