Sugarcane bagasse supported graphitic carbon nitride for photocatalytic conversion of carbon dioxide

The sugarcane bagasse (SB) was recycled to support graphitic carbon nitride (gCN) for photocatalytic application. By tuning the hydrothermal process, the SB-supported gCN could convert carbon dioxide (CO2) into monoxide or methanol under the illumination of a 14-watt LED light bulb. The composition of functional groups on sample was tunable via hydrothermal process and consequently altered the affinity to CO2 & nbsp;and promoted the conversion efficiency of CO2. This work demonstrated a win-win strategy to upgrade the agricultural wastes to efficient catalytic supports for the conversion of CO2 & nbsp;into value-added products under ambient condition.
