摘要

•Accurate 1D-target-based measurement for caster and KPI of vehicle wheel is proposed.•The position invariance of the kingpin axis during the alignment measurement is proved.•Sub-pixel extraction is improved for centers of concentric circles on 1D-target.•1D-1D-2D-3D kingpin measurement model is established and optimized for caster and KPI.•The method is experimentally verified by angle-independently-generated instrument.
