High cycle fatigue S-N curve prediction of steels based on transfer learning guided long short term memory network

•The long short-term memory network combined with transfer learning concept is employed to estimate the high cycle S-N curve.•The proposed model shows improved accuracy across different steel grades compared with traditional extrapolation formula.•The conversion between fatigue curves with different testing conditions is realized.•Effect of data amount and model parameters on generality are investigated.
