Three-Dimensional CFD simulation of waste plastic (SRF) gasification in a bubbling fluidized bed with detailed kinetic chemical model

•Mixed waste plastics (SRF) BFB gasification process modeled using MP-PIC method.•Low density and sphericity SRF tend segregate and concentrate at bed top part.•ER = 0.3 produces gas with 16.0 kjgas/gfuel LHV and 0.16 g/gfuel C2-C3 hydrocarbons.•ER = 0.2 favors C2-C3 hydrocarbons yield up to 0.30 g/gfuel and 25.4 kJgas/gfuel LHV.•Locating the fuel feed below the bed increases gas LHV up to 19.85 kJgas/gfuel.
