An innovative strategy for bioactivation of β-Ti12Mo6Zr2Fe alloy surface by dip-coating method with potential application in the biomedical field

•β-Ti alloys are characterized by a low elastic modulus, no toxic elements and stability.•Sr-containing bioactive glass was synthesized by the sol-gel route.•Laser texturing and phosphatization improve the adherence of bioactive glass.•The coatings were obtained by the immersion method and structured layer-by-layer.•A physical and chemical anchoring model of bioactive glass was proposed.
