Potential hydro-meteorological impacts over Burundi from climate change

•Projected increase of the long-term average annual and monthly mean temperature.•Opposite signals of change found for precipitation in North (+) / South (-) Burundi.•Shortening of the rainy season and projected more severe short dry season in Burundi.•Projected increase / decrease of seasonal discharge in North / South Burundi.•Projected higher extreme daily river discharges in the main part of Burundi - Ruvubu River Basin.
