Photodynamic therapy in the treatment of circumscribed choroidal hemangioma: Current perspectives

•-Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using verteporfin is a treatment that is widely used to treat various chorio-retinal diseases.•-Originally, it was used to treat neovascular age-related macular degeneration but over the years, the clinical targets have shifted to other chorioretinal conditions such as central serous chorioretinopathy, polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy and choroidal hemangioma.•-Various clinical protocols of PDT with varied settings of treatment has evolved over years with significant in effective treatment of choroidal hemangiomas.
