IDF21-0188 Impact of adverse events on hospital costs and health-related quality of life in people with diabetes

Background: People with diabetes are at increased risk of adverse events (AEs) from the disease and related treatments. Impacts of AEs on hospital costs and health-related quality of life (QoL) are useful metrics to quantify benefit-risk trade-offs of treatments. We report impacts of a wide range of diabetes AEs reflecting contemporary treatment strategies.
