•Selle Francaise breed has been tested towards inherited diseases carrier.•Result indicated the presence of allele related to Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy.•The 6% of SF horses were Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome carriers.•The SF horses tested were free from Cerebellar Abiotrophy disorder.•SF breed should be under monitoring genetic towards inherited diseases.
