Optimal dose of misoprostol combined with oxytocin for preventing postpartum hemorrhage in cesarean section: A randomised controlled trial

•Misoprostol combined with oxytocin decrease an incidence of postpartum hemorrhage.•Either 400, 600 or 800 μg of misoprostol can prevent postpartum bleeding equally.•Low dose of misoprostol minimizes the side effects.•An enhanced postpartum recovery will achieve skin-skin contact and early breastfeeding.
