Purpose: Radiation therapy (RT) is frequently utilized in the treatment of locally recurrent gynecologic malignancies. A portion of this patient population received prior surgical resection and/or RT, decreasing the physical distance between the target and organs at risk (OARs) as well as the tolerance of OARs to additional RT. Brachytherapy is often required to safely deliver adequate dose in the setting of reirradiation. Injectable hydrogel is now a widely utilized method to create physical space between the target and OARs, most frequently for EBRT treatment of prostate cancer.
