摘要
To investigate the complex physics and mixture properties inside sheet/cloud cavities, we performed an experimental study that used phase-resolved optical probes and high-speed photography to acquire both vapor-water information and large-scale flow structures. We found distinctive characteristics at different scales: the large scale of cavitation shedding, and the small scale of bubbles. Large-scale cavitation behavior was examined using the mean void fraction profile and raw signal history, characterized by the shedding of cavity cloud. Small-scale information on bubbles and probability density function of bubble size distributions were quite similar at various measurement locations. Based on the experimental data, we proposed an empirical bubble size distribution and discussed the corresponding statistical quantities for cloud cavitation.
