Designing and Testing of Energy Selective Surface Based on PIN Diode

摘要
In this paper, an energy selective surface (ESS) based on PIN diode is designed and manufactured, and performed irradiation tests under the environment of ultra-wideband electromagnetic pulse (UWB-EMP). The test results show that the ESS designed in this paper has good protective effect against UWB-EMP. When the space field is 2100 V/m, the shielding efficiency can reach 15 dB. Meanwhile it is concluded that the response time of PIN diode affects the shielding efficiency. The amount of variation in shielding efficiency is determined by the diodes array. The results provide reference for the application of ESS in electromagnetic protection.
