摘要
•Ca2+ is reported to be a critical regulator during viral life-cycle events such as viral fusion, viral entry, viral replication, virion maturation, and egress.•Transient receptor potential (TRP) channels are attributed to aid viral infection and regulate host-virus interaction by virtue of their Ca2+ permeability.•TRP channels as a putative store-operated channel have immense potential in promoting viral infection and pathogenesis.•TRP channels play an immense role in viral calciomics and may act as a target for antiviral therapeutics.
