•There are no previous studies about the effect of HFA and EVOO in tissue oxygenation and perfusion in heels under pressure.•This study may have economic impact due to the price difference between preventive products used.•This Project is undertaken to identify the mechanisms that intervene in the genesis of pressure ulcers.
