Efficient synthesis of artificial pharmaceutical solid-phase modules for constructing aptamer-drug conjugates

•To improve the synthetic efficiency of ApDCs, new artificial pharmaceutical modules for automated and modular synthesis of aptamer-drug conjugates (ApDCs) were developed.•An artificial pharmaceutical solid-phase module of Combretastatin A-4 (CA-4) was firstly designed and synthesized.•Aptamer-CA-4 conjugates were constructed, which showed specific targeting ability for tumor cells with potent cytotoxicity.
