摘要

•Insoluble dietary fiber from tea (T-IDF) was studied systematically for the first time.•T-IDF is composed mainly of insoluble dietary fiber and protein.•Various properties of T-IDF indicated its application potential in food processing.•T-IDF improves the defecation of mice with slow transit intestinal motility disorder.•T-IDF stimulated human feces fermentation to produce short-chain fatty acids.
