Proteomic analysis of epicardial adipose tissue from heart disease patients with concomitant heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

•Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) has a complex pathogenesis.•Excess epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) may promote HFpEF via unknown mechanisms.•The proteome of EAT from HFpEF patients was examined.•EAT proteins (CD36, POSTN, TRAP1, etc.) were differentially expressed in HFpEF.•Targeting of EAT proteins could be a new therapeutic approach for HFpEF.
