Noninvasive Diagnostic Methods for the Assessment of Hepatic Fibrosis in Liver Transplant Recipients

•Noninvasive diagnostic methods for the assessment of liver fibrosis may reduce the number of liver biopsies in transplant recipients under certain circumstances.•If advanced stages of hepatic fibrosis are suspected, noninvasive diagnostic methods can be used as a safer and cheaper alternative to liver biopsy.•Dynamic elastography may be used in conjunction with the Enhance Liver Fibrosis test in the diagnostic assessment of hepatic fibrosis in advanced stages.•The cutoff values for clinically significant hepatic fibrosis stages provide valuable information in the interpretation of results in population of liver transplant recipients.
