Hypergraph clustering based on modularity feature projection for high-order relationship community detection of microorganisms

•This paper proposes a hypergraph clustering algorithm based on modular feature projection, which has a good convergence speed and can effectively detect the high-order community structure of microorganisms.•The results provide evidences for understanding microbial high-order community structure from the perspective of data analysis.•The proposed framework is helpful for understanding functional modules and community structure of microorganisms from a higher-order organization level.
