Serious video games and psychological support: A depression intervention among young cancer patients

•This study aims to examine the role of serious games in eliminating depressive symptoms among young cancer patients and randomly collects the data from 60 cancer patients from different hospitals and assessed their depressive symptoms.•This study randomly divides the 60 cancer patients into two groups.•One group plays the 3D-GIT game and the other engages in Re-mission-II game.•This study examines the effect of both games in eliminating the depressive symptoms among cancer patients.•The study results prove that both the games are effective in reducing the depression among cancer patients.
